Abel Bushfire

All new development applications, for example, dwellings, home extensions and subdivisions located on bushfire prone land, must meet the bushfire protection objectives of Planning for Bushfire Protection 2019 (PBP 2019).

Our Bushfire Assessment Reports will comply with PBP 2019 and will:

  • Tell you the size and risk of the bushfire hazard' by following PBP 2019 methodology,

  • Explain how and why the proposed development will comply - we won't simply state the proposal is compliant or non-compliant,

  • Argue for the lowest Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating on building construction and design following a site inspection,

  • Provide the client, Council and / or the NSW RFS with the necessary information to show the proposed building will be capable of surviving a bushfire.

Abel Ecology BAL reports also provide recommendations on:

  • Asset Protection Zone size and maintenance

  • Landscaping

  • Site ecological and heritage constraints

  • Water supply and utility requirements

  • Access and egress arrangements

  • Emergency management arrangements, and

  • Provide a better understanding of the bushfire risk at the site.

We can also assist with the following:

  • Desktop StudyBushfire

  • Bushfire Self-Assessment and On-Site Advice

  • Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Certificate
